Is there anybody that returned from US? What did you do with your 401K in US? I have received a few advices from leave it in there, take it out little by little every year to take it all out!
I don't think want to have to deal with the procedures for 20 years to come by taking it out little by little. I think I can deal with splitting it in 3 portions.
And when the money is brought over to Malaysia, do we get taxed if
1) put it in EPF
2)ASB
3)regular savings account?

We moved from the US and decided to leave our 401k there.

Malaysia doesn't tax investment income so if you want to bring money back, that's not an issue. But there is a limit to how much you can contribute to EPF each year.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?

The minimum age for 401K withdrawals, without penalty, is 59.5yrs old. The early withdrawal penalty is 10% of the sum withdrawn.

Malaysia EPF does not take cash top-ups. Contributions have to be directly from your earnings.
