Dear all,

Before I proceed, I would like to thank Outstation. My for the opportunity to share my passion with everyone on this forum. Ever since returning from the UK after a 10-year stint, I have been harbouring the desire to impart my enthusiasm for technology to the future generation of Malaysia. After a series of life events, I am now on a journey to realise this passion.

The digital native kids of today are said to be ‘fluent’ with technology, but they typically use the technology around them as mere consumers. Being fluent with a language means not only having the ability to read, write and speak, but being able to compose letters, essays, poetries or novellas. Hence, to be true digital natives that is ‘fluent’ with technology, I believe kids should be creating with technology and not merely consuming content.

Trained as an engineer and being a “techno-preneur”, my goal is to spark the “Aha!” moment in children while they tinker with technology. With their new found curiosity, I want to nurture it so they will further explore creating with technology on their own. Through hands-on experiences, I want to expose kids to the possibilities of technology as well as its limitations.

Technology is getting more and more advanced each day and I want kids to understand what the technology is capable of and when we can’t rely on technology. Regardless of the discipline the child takes up in the future, I wish they can use the technology available to them to their advantage.

Best regards,
Dr. Ewe Chun Te
Ph.D. of Imperial College London
